About the Campaign
As Brian tells it: ‘A seed was sown at a social gathering about growing mullets for my upcoming wedding, so the future wife said “you can grow one after the wedding”. She then came up with the idea to turn it into a fundraiser. So for one full year I’m encouraging everyone to either grow a mullet and get your own sponsorship or sponsor me.’
And on the 14th October 2022, the mullet/s will be shaved off at a fundraising event – what an awesome way to celebrate a first anniversary!
LATEST UPDATE: Oct 2022 – It’s getting very exciting! NEXT WEEK it all happens! 🤗 Here’re the last photos – we have Brian, Theo and Jason’s mullets; Shelly and Alison who chose to go the non-mullet route (and who can blame them) directly to shaving their heads!; and black horse Shane who’s come in with an offer to shave his dreads if another $1,000 could be raised! Could this bunch of awesome people get any more awesome? LATEST UPDATE: Sept 2022 – Anyone else noticed that the target keeps going up? Yep – this group’s so awesome we’re struggling to keep up 🥇 Only 2 weeks to go and the support being thrown in behind the Big Shave Off is totally awesome! Stayed tuned … new mullet update photos to be posted here soon …
LATEST UPDATE: July 2022 – and here’s the latest monthly update. The Lads are certainly past the “is that or is that not a mullet” stage 😆 But my money’s on wee Theo to take out top prize – his mullet is totally awesome (as are his cheeks!) 😍 And we now have a lady joining in the fun – Shelly’s not interested in a mullet, but she is willing to SHAVE IT ALL OFF! 😮 Looks like October 14th will be a good night – stay tuned for details – there will not only be the shaving, but also an auction. June 2022 – thought it was time to check in on the Mullet Men … who would have thought there’d be this many curls?! Looking decidedly mullet-ish 🙂 Only a few months to go and then the Big Shave! (Got to admit … the middle photo looks like there’s a ‘shake down’ goin’ on, but I can assure you these lads are all above board 😉)
UPDATE: December 2021 … these mullets are starting to take shape – can definitely see clear mullet-lines 😉
