My challenge is doing the Queenstown Marathon – Saturday 15th November 2025.

In 2001, I had a paragliding accident in Queenstown that left me with two broken vertebrae, a shattered pelvis, and a severed spinal cord. I was 12 at the time, a lucky factor that meant I was eventually able to walk again, albeit with a limp due to neurological damage effecting my right leg.

A bit about me:

In 2001, I had a paragliding accident in Queenstown that left me with two broken vertebrae, a shattered pelvis, and a severed spinal cord. I was 12 at the time, a lucky factor that meant I was eventually able to walk again, albeit with a limp due to neurological damage effecting my right leg.

I am now 36, and although I am impaired by my injuries, I have still managed to live a relatively normal life. Last year I set myself the goal of walking 10km in the Queenstown Marathon, which I completed. This year, I have put together a small crew of friends to walk the half marathon, and I would like to do this as a fundraiser for the NZ Spinal Trust. My fundraising goal is $10,000 between the four of us..
